DELHI, N.Y. (December 1, 2020) – While this fall semester has been anything but ordinary, our student-athletes have shown outstanding character, resilience, and leadership during their practice seasons. SUNY Delhi Athletics is proud to reintroduce our Broncos of the Week by recognizing our talented and committed students, who despite the absence of competition demonstrated superb qualities on behalf of their team and the college.
Jessica Kwasnik, Softball
From Head Coach Meagan Stone:
"During Fall Ball Jess came every day with high energy that would spread throughout the team. Athletically, she was willing to move around the infield to different positions, which was needed when we had low numbers when we started hitting live!"
Abshir Yerow, Cross Country/Track & Field
From Head Coach Robb Munro:
"Abshir continued training at a really high level, as he always has, all through this pandemic. Upon getting to campus he immediately connected with some of the new team members and took them under his wing. One particular freshman has benefitted immensely from Abshir's leadership and has already dropped nearly three minutes from his half-marathon time. Abshir may have lost his last outdoor and cross country seasons of competition, but his positivity and energy continues to make the program a better place!"
