Lexi Taylor Gets Second NAC Rookie of the Week to End Regular Season

WATERVILLE, Me. (November 5, 2019) – Freshman outside hitter Lexi Taylor (Norwich, NY / Norwich) earned the North Atlantic Conference's (NAC) final Women's Volleyball Rookie of the Week award of the 2019 season. Taylor posted solid performances in the Broncos' last four regular-season contests as the team obtained a berth in this weekend's NAC Tournament at Maine Maritime. This marks her second Rookie of the Week honor.

The Broncos began the week playing two Empire 8 programs in Hartwick and Utica. On Monday, Taylor registered 16 digs and 4 kills against the Hawks. The team bounced back from the 3-0 defeat to Hartwick with a 3-0 sweep at Utica on Wednesday, where the Norwich, NY native recorded eight kills and eight digs. Delhi then traveled up to Northern Vermont Johnson on Sunday for a pair of conference battles against the host Badgers and neighboring Northern Vermont Lyndon. Taylor led the team in digs against Johnson, racking up 14 in a contest that featured several close sets, but resulted in a 3-0 defeat. The Broncos responded later that afternoon with a commanding 3-0 shutout over Lyndon, notching three kills, two digs and one service ace.

Taylor and the Broncos are off to the NAC Semifinals on Saturday, playing top seed and host Maine Maritime at 11:00 a.m. The winner heads to the NAC Championship Sunday at 12 noon, facing the finalist from the other semifinals match against two-seed SUNY Canton and three-seed Northern Vermont Johnson.
