Volleyball Opens Season Shutting Out King's (NY), Yeshiva

BROOKLYN, N.Y. (September 1, 2019) – SUNY Delhi women's volleyball opened the 2019 season with convincing 3-0 wins versus King's (N.Y.) and Yeshiva. The Broncos beat the Lions by way of 25-9, 25-18 and 25-15 sets, followed by beating Yeshiva by 25-1, 25-11 and 25-16 scores. The Broncos start the year at 2-0, with their next contest versus Utica in their home opener this Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.

DELHI 3, KING'S (N.Y.) 0

The Broncos handled the first and third sets quite handily by 25-9 and 25-15 respective scores. The second set proved most challenging, as three straight points from the Lions left Delhi with a 19-18 lead. They rose to the occasion with six straight points to close out the set on five kills and one service ace.

Haylee Lefebvre led the way with 12 kills and two solo blocks, as Witchney Clersainville supplied seven kills. Erica Prindle gathered a team-best 15 assists and four service aces, while Shelby Nolan totaled 11 digs and freshman Chloe Elsenbeck nine.

DELHI 3, YESHIVA 0

Delhi started with 18 straight points in the first set on their way to a 25-1 win. This was followed by claiming the final seven points for a 25-11 second-set win and a 25-16 win in the third set.

Erica Prindle racked up 11 service aces and a team-best 14 assists. Freshman Marie Julian charted a team-high 11 kills. Both Prindle and Julian both also led with four digs. Bethany Feldman and Witchney Clersainville added four kills apiece.
