DELHI, N.Y. (October 19, 2019) – The SUNY Delhi women's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 match to Maine Maritime Saturday morning, then rebounded in the evening with a 3-1 victory over Husson for their first-ever NAC win during their day as hosts of a NAC Quad Match. The split gives Delhi both an even 9-9 overall record and 1-1 conference mark.

The Broncos welcomed the Mariners, Eagles, and SUNY Canton to Floyd L. Maines Arena, where the Canton Roos battled MMA and Husson in the second and third matches of the day. MMA left campus as two-time champions, defeating both the Broncos and SUNY Canton in three sets. The Roos defeated the Eagles in four sets.

After a local meeting at SUNY Cobleskill on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m., the Broncos will play at SUNY Canton next Saturday in another NAC crossover, facing the host Roos and Maine Presque Isle.

Saturday also marked the Broncos' Breast Cancer Awareness Day, in which they sported pink tie-dye shirts during warmups.

MAINE MARITIME 3, DELHI 0

Coming into Delhi with a 14-3 record, Maine Maritime's first-set win did not come so easy against a hungry Broncos squad. With MMA knocking on the door holding a 23-20 lead, Delhi challenged back by taking the next two points to make it a one-point set. But the Mariners responded with the next two points for a 25-22 victory. They went on to handily take the second game, 25-12, followed by a 25-19 triumph in set three.

Freshmen Lexi Taylor and Chloe Elsenbeck led the Delhi attack with five kills apiece, as Taylor charted six digs. Taylor Tsatsis added four kills, while Witchney Clersainville totaled three kills with three total blocks, including one solo. Erica Prindle led with 14 assists and nine digs.

The Mariners totaled 44 digs with a .216 kill percentage, compared to the Broncos' 19 and .066, respectively. MMA also had ten service aces to Delhi's two.

DELHI 3, HUSSON 1

With both sides coming off defeats earlier in the day, SUNY Delhi and Husson duked it out in a close first set. Tied at 23-23, the Eagles swooped in to get the next two points for a 25-23 win. But the Broncos struck back with a vengeance in set two, opening up a 13-3 lead to start things off to cruise to a 25-16 victory. Though Husson looked to regain control with a 4-0 lead in set three, Delhi pulled out in front, using a four-point run to take the lead, 8-6, staying in front for the rest of the game for a 25-17 win. The Broncos then used a series of runs in set four to call match with a 25-21 victory.

Lexi Taylor roped in a career performance with 17 kills and a .345 kill percentage, as well as a game-high 22 digs. Chloe Elsenbeck was next for Delhi in both the kills and digs category with 11 and 14, respectively, as Taylor Tsatsis totaled ten kills and 11 digs. Erica Prindle led the match with 34 assists, while tallying three kills and ten digs. Freshman Marie Julian had a game-best four service aces, along with 11 digs in her return to the lineup after sitting out with an injury for a few weeks. Witchney Clersainville added eight kills with three total blocks, including two solo.
