VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (November 10, 2017) – The SUNY Delhi women's cross country team concluded their astounding season Friday morning with sixth-place place finish at the USCAA National Championships. The Broncos posted 170 points in the 6K, 125-runner race, with freshman Arielle Moheimani leading the team with a 23rd-place finish. Cleary won the women's team title, posting 38 points. SUNY ESF finished second with 58 points, while Saint Mary of the Woods was third with 65 points.

The Broncos matched their placement from last year's nationals, despite returning just two runners and having several women come back from injuries and illnesses. According to head coach Robb Munro, Friday was the first time he had all his top runners compete together since late September.

"The women really fought hard today and it showed in the final results," related Munro. "After only returning two athletes from last year's sixth place team and going to the line at far less than top form because of illnesses they manage to match the team place from the year before. I was really impressed and pleased with the way they competed. They showed a great deal of toughness."

Leading Delhi in every race this season, Moheimani stayed true to her form, pacing the Broncos with a time of 26:00.17. McIntyre earned 42nd place with a mark of 27:49.76, while Zhane Smith finished 45th at 27:58.17. Tristen Bowker became the Broncos' fourth finisher, grabbing 56th with a time of 28:50.71, with Jewel Pignetti earning 58th with a mark of 28:52.98. Rainey Cerqua followed Pignetti, placing 61st at 29:15.55, while Brittany Adams took 74th at 30:01.75 and Beverly Gruet 78th with a mark of 30:37.48.
