Men's Golf, Men's Cross Country Honored for USCAA Championship Seasons

DELHI, N.Y. (December 6, 2017) – SUNY Delhi's USCAA National Champion men's golf and men's cross country teams were honored for their achievements Tuesday evening during halftime of the men's basketball game between the Broncos and College of St. Joseph. SUNY Delhi Vice President for Student Life Tomas Aguirre and Director of Athletics Bob Backus were on hand to formally coronate both national championship teams.

At USCAAs in early October, the Broncos men's golf squad overcame a fifth-place finish and 11-stroke deficit after day one to shoot a season-best 295 on day two for a total of 604 to win their first-ever USCAA national crown. Russell Herbert finished tied for first individually with a two-day total of 145, while Aaron Oliver earned second-team All-American, placing 11th with a 153 total.

Kobie Lane finished first to earn his first individual national title, as Nick Arnecke, Jon Messler and Lucas Reilly placed second, third and fourth for first-team All-American.
