Delhi Swim Finishes Season at NAC Championships

Cazenovia, NY - The SUNY Delhi men's and women's Swim and Dive teams traveled to Cazenovia for the 2023 NAC Championships over the weekend. The men would place fourth as a team with a total of 165 points while the women placed fifth with 155.

In the individual events, freshman Skyler Nowalk had one of the best races for the Broncos, swimming a 59.91 in the 100 Yard Freestyle Preliminary round. That time would be her career-best in the event and the second fastest time of the event all day. She would go on to take second overall in the final, tied for Delhi's top placement of the championship. Later, Nowalk placed third overall in the 50 Yard Freestyle in a very tight heat to finish her solid weekend.

Jessica Roon was another Bronco to place in the final, coming in fifth in the 100 Yard Individual Medley. She would improve by two seconds on her time from the preliminary round to the final race. Roon would later place sixth in the 50 Yard Breaststroke, right behind teammate Kitty Messina.

While on the men's side of the action freshman, Steven Castronovo and Travis Belanger would lead the way for the men's team in the individual events. Castronovo would have a great showing in the 50 Yard Breaststroke, placing second overall after improving a spot from the preliminary heat. He swam a 29.64 in the final round for one of his best times all year. While Belanger had a solid championship weekend, placing top six in the 100 Yard Individual Medley, 50 and 100 Yard Breaststroke. 

The Broncos wrap up the year with some great races at the NAC Championships after steadily improving throughout the season.
