Delhi, NY - After a big week of athletics for SUNY Delhi, we present women’s swimmer Skyler Nowalk and men’s track distance runner John Amenta as the Broncos of the Week. 

John Amenta - (Fishkill, NY / John Jay) - Men’s Indoor Track & Field

The men picked up their only event win over the weekend from distance runner John Amenta. Amenta ran a lifetime best of 8:41.62 to win the 3000-meter race. He entered the final lap in second place but ran an impressive 28.55-second final circuit to pull away and win by two and a half seconds. Amenta's time moves him up to number five on the SUNY Delhi All-Time list for the 3000 meters.

Skyler Nowalk - (Greene, NY / Greene CS) - Women's Swim & Dive

At the NAC Championships over the weekend, freshman Skyler Nowalk had one of the best races for the Broncos, swimming a 59.91 in the 100 Yard Freestyle Preliminary round. That time would be her career-best in the event and the second fastest time of the event all day. She would go on to take second overall in the final, tied for Delhi's top placement of the championship. Later, Nowalk placed third overall in the 50 Yard Freestyle in a very tight heat to finish her solid weekend.
