Delhi Swim Travels to Utica for a Battle against the Pioneers and Cazenovia

Utica, NY - The Broncos swim team traveled to Utica Friday night for a tri-meet against the Pioneers and Cazenovia. The men's team was able to defeat Cazenovia but lost a tough one to Utica. The women's team would lose both matchups but had some great individual efforts.

Delhi's men's team saw two individual race wins on the way to beating Cazenovia 107-0 and falling to the host team 96-65. Freshman Steven Castronovo had a great day in the water, grabbing both of the Bronco's individual wins. He won the 100 Yard Breaststroke by 13 seconds and the 50 Yard Breaststroke by just .73 seconds ahead of teammate Travis Belanger.

The women's team was led by sophomore Jessica Roon who won two races. She took first in the 50-Yard Breaststroke in a very tight race while also winning the 100-Yard Individual Medley. They would fall to the Wildcats 96-59 and the Pioneers 121.5-39.5.

The Green and Gold's next meet will be at home on January 17th at 5 P.M. against William Paterson University.
