SUNY Delhi Hosts First Home Swim Meet Since 2019; Castronovo Wins 100 Yard Breaststroke

Delhi, NY - The SUNY Delhi swim team hosted their first swim meet since December, 7th 2019 where they also took on Williams Paterson University. The Broncos faced Williams Paterson in a head-to-head dual to kick off their first meet of the semester.

The women swim team would have a solid meet but it wasn't enough as they were defeated 63-51. Skyler Nowalk, Jessica Roon, Kitty Messina and Molly Stevens would come together and have a great 200 Yard Freestyle Relay, ending in 2:17.53. Nowalk would finish her day with two great efforts in individual races, making great times in the 50 Yard Freestyle and 100 Yard Freestyle.

While the men were defeated by a team score of 69-53 after freshman Steven Castronovo won the 100 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:09.95 to secure nine points. The men's 200 Yard Freestyle Relay ended the meet on a very exciting note as the race went down to the wire, with the Broncos only losing by less than half a second in the end.

The Broncos swim team will be right back in action this Saturday at home when they take Wells College at 12 PM.
