AURORA, NY (January 22,2022) - The SUNY Delhi swimmers traveled to Wells College for a three team meet with host Wells and Cobleskill.
The Broncos picked up four five first place finishes, three of which came from senior Alexandria Caceres. Caceres dominated her events winning both the 100 yard freestyle (1:00.82) and the 200 yard freestyle (2:14.98) winning both events by 11 seconds. She also added a third victory in the 100 yard butterfly (1:12.76).
Also winning a race for Delhi was freshman Jessica Roon who won the 50 yard freestyle (31.62). Roon also added a second place finish in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:22.06). The Broncos final victory came from senior Jeremiah Brathwaite in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:23.42).
A pair of additional runner up finishes were turned in by sophomore Kitty Messina in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:31.77) and Jonathon Brathwaite in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:27.26).
Next up for the team is a trip to Cazenovia College next weekend.
