Women Gather Seven Victories at SUNY Cobleskill

COBLESKILL, N.Y. (December 1, 2021) - The SUNY Delhi swimming and diving teams paid a visit to SUNY Cobleskill for a NAC dual meet Wednesday, a familiar opponent to the Broncos having competed against them in their two previous meets. The women posted seven wins to come within five points of the Fighting Tigers in a 71-66 showing, while the men had two victories for 55 points to Cobleskill's 88.

Alexandria Caceres and Jessica Roon shared three victories, as Kitty Messina claimed one first-place finish. Caceres captured the 200-yard freestyle at 2:14.85, the 200-yard IM at 2:37.19, the 100-yard butterfly with a career-best 1:09.95. Roon took first in the 50-yard freestyle at a career-best 29.76, the 100-yard freestyle at 1:07.62, and the 100-yard backstroke at 1:19.71. Messina finished ahead of the group in the 100-yard breaststroke at 1:29.67. Travis Belanger took winning honors on the men's side in the 100-yard breastroke, finishing first in a time of 1:12.74. Diver Josh Lopez earned first in the one-meter dives, totaling 134.18 points. 

The Broncos have another meet this week, heading to Wells College for a Saturday afternoon meet starting at 12:00 p.m.
