INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (June 30, 2020) - The NCAA Division III Membership Committee announced that it has advanced SUNY Delhi to its third and final year of provisional membership entering the 2020-21 year. The committee communicated that SUNY Delhi has fulfilled all requirements for provisional membership for the 2019-20 academic year. The Broncos are scheduled to become eligible for full-time membership by the 2021-22 season.

"On behalf of SUNY Delhi and our Athletics Department, we are very pleased and excited to enter into the next and final stage of this extensive provisional membership process," related Director of Athletics Bob Backus. "As was our primary goal all along, once we become full NCAA Division III members it will certainly provide our student-athletes the best opportunity for continued growth and continued successes. It's certainly another positive step forward in the right direction and it's a 'Great Day to be a Bronco!'"

SUNY Delhi enjoyed a great 2019-20 season, their first as full-time members in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC). The men's golf team won their first NAC team title, followed by the men's and women's cross country teams sweeping the NAC championships. Women's volleyball, men's soccer and women's soccer each qualified for the NAC Tournament, with the women's soccer team tallying a playoff win in the league quarterfinals. The men's basketball team hosted the ACAA Tournament en route to their second straight conference title. The Broncos finished the year 21-7 for their first 20-win season as NCAA members.

The swimming and diving team had their first-ever NCAA conference finalist at the AMCC/Empire 8 Championships. The indoor track & field team had two second-place finishers at the AARTFC Indoor Championships as the men placed sixth.

SUNY Delhi sponsors 19 intercollegiate programs and are proud members of the North Atlantic Conference (NAC), Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC), and the All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference (AARTFC). The college began its transition to NCAA Division III with an exploratory season in 2017-18, which was rewarded with provisional membership the following year.
