DELHI, N.Y. (June 12, 2020) - Four SUNY Delhi student-athletes were recognized at the annual Barbara Jones Leadership Awards year-end ceremony. The awards presentation, which took place virtually in May, honors individuals who exemplify the values of the Student Life Division and who significantly contribute to improving the quality of life at SUNY Delhi.
Men's tennis junior Jake Robinson (Oneonta, NY / Oneonta) was the recipient of the Neil and Linda Riddell Scholarship. This scholarship was established to encourage SUNY Delhi campus leaders to complete their studies and become successful alumni. Robinson majors in Recreation and Sports Management.
Freshman women's soccer student-athlete Becky Drumm (Pine Bush, NY / Pine Bush), a Criminal Justice major, received the Perri DeFreece Memorial Scholarship, honoring a high achieving Criminal Justice student who is involved with community service.
Freshman women's golfer Ava Rossi (Mount Sinai, NY / Mount Sinai) was presented the Laurel Murphy Scholarship, which provides financial support to a Liberal Arts student who has overcome challenges to achieve academic success.
Cross country and track & field student-athlete Arielle Moheimani (Homer, NY / Homer) was formally recognized by the institution on receiving the SUNY Chancellor's Award for Student Excellence, as her and Paige Keith were the two students selected from SUNY Delhi for this SUNY-wide honor for exemplary commitments and contributions as a student. Moheimani majors in Mechatronics.
Additionally, Darryl Valentine, a Recreation and Sports Management major and an athletics department student worker, was recognized with a Student Life Scholarship. Valentine is a Resident Assistant and a member of EOP.
