SUNY Delhi inducted three new members to its Athletics Hall of Fame Induction Class on Saturday, Nov. 16. Shanay Bradley '10 (Women's Basketball), Christopher Mason '09 (Cross Country/Track & Field), and Anibal Nieves '86 (Wrestling) were formally recognized in a brunch ceremony at the newly-completed Bluestone at The College Golf Course. The festivities continued over at Clark Field House in conjunction with the women's basketball team's home game versus Penn State Hazleton, as the Broncos treated their distinguished crowd to a 74-62 victory. The three inductees were presented to a raucous crowd at halftime, after which their plaques were officially unveiled in the hall.

The ceremony marked the 11th edition of the annual SUNY Delhi Athletics Hall of Fame celebration, with a total of 44 inductees to date. It also marked the second year of the ceremony taking place in the fall in conjunction with a basketball game in an effort to increase exposure and engagement for the benefit of the campus, community, current students and staff, and alumni.

Bradley was presented by former SUNY Delhi women's basketball head coach Amber Sohns-DeVantier. She served as court commander for the Broncos from 2008 to 2013, coaching Bradley from 2008 to 2010. Those two seasons saw tremendous success for the program, as Bradley helped the team to 26 total wins and was named to the All-Mountain Valley Conference Team, averaging a double-double her sophomore year at12.8 points per game and 13.1 rebounds per game. She moved on to become a major presence on the SUNY New Paltz hardwood, where she earned All-SUNYAC honors and led the league in rebounding. Bradley remained in the SUNYAC as an assistant coach for both New Paltz and Potsdam, and now is a director at the Fellowship of Christian Athletes in Syracuse, N.Y., which focuses on the development of faith and athletics.

Nieves was inducted by fellow SUNY Delhi wrestling alumnus and former teammate Pastor Peter Maldonado, a regional champion and national qualifier for the Broncos who moved on to a national-championship career at Iowa's Loras College. Nieves spent his two-year career as a Bronco competing under a pair of storied head coaches in Frank Millard and Larry Reynolds. After being part of a team that won the 1985 NJCAA Region 3 Championship and a third-place finish at nationals, Nieves helped the Broncos to another regional title in 1986 and winning the Individual National Championship in the 134 lbs. category. He brought that success over to a great student-athlete career at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania, then competing internationally for Puerto Rico in the 1992 and 1996 Olympics and the 1991 and 1995 Pan-American Games. Nieves is the Head Men's and Women's Wrestling Coach at East Stroudsburg, and previously served as head coach at American International College, Western New England University, and Springfield Tech. He was the head coach of the Haiti Wrestling Team at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

Mason was recognized by former coach and SUNY Delhi Director of Athletics Bob Backus. As head coach of the cross country and track and field programs from 1993 to 2008, Backus finished his coaching career watching Mason become the only person ever to win back-to-back NJCAA Cross Country Individual National Championships in 2007 and 2008. He was a NJCAA Outdoor Track & Field National Champion in both the 5,000 meters and 10,000 meters, and set the fastest time for a NJCAA Division III runner in the Half Marathon at 1:11.26. Mason capped his Delhi career in 2009 with junior college athletics' highest honor, the David Rowlings Award, becoming the first recipient from Cross Country/Track & Field. He moved on to a great career at Middle Tennessee State University, earning several All-Sun Belt Conference honors. Mason currently serves as a cross country and track and field coach back in his hometown of Auburn, N.Y. at his alma mater Auburn High School.
