Athletics Staff Madness Finals Set Between Bracchy, Munro

DELHI, N.Y. (April 23, 2020) – After three weeks and 14,000 votes, SUNY Delhi Athletics Staff Madness has its championship matchup determined. Coaches Beau Bracchy (Women's Volleyball) and Robb Munro (Cross Country/Track & Field) are set to compete over the next week for the distinction of Broncos Athletics supremacy. Polls for the Athletics Staff Madness Championship begins Friday, once again available at DelhiBroncos.com/vote and on Twitter @DelhiBroncos.

Bracchy, who entered the Final Four after winning the Gold Region, defeated Blue Region winner Mike Burud (Swimming & Diving) in a back-and-forth contest. The final vote count was a record-high 3,974. Burud finished ahead in the Twitter voting, 49-31, but Bracchy pulled away in the online poll, 2133-1761. Munro, the White Region champion, defeated Green Region victor Dave Arehart (Golf) with a thin lead on Twitter, 27-24, and a more decisive online margin, 486-198.

The meeting between Bracchy and Munro is set to provide many factors in the voting turnout. Bracchy is in his 15th season at SUNY Delhi, while Munro is in his eighth. Both men have carried out their programs' transitions from the junior college level to NCAA Division III, earning many indelible marks for their teams along the way. That remains true to this day with SUNY Delhi's emergence in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC). Munro's cross country and track & field programs have swept the men's and women's conference titles, while Bracchy's volleyball squad qualified for the NAC Tournament in their first NAC season this fall. This kind of success and longevity offers both men one advantage that likely got them to the Finals to begin with: alumni.
