CASTINE, Me. (October 9, 2021) - In a season filled with one-goal decisions, the SUNY Delhi men's soccer team was again on the short end of a 1-0 NAC match Saturday at Maine Maritime. In their opening game of their NAC weekend road series, the Broncos stood tall in a contest that remained scoreless for nearly the first 80 minutes before a Ryan Holmes score assisted by Daniel Chizmar accounted for the dealbreaker.

Junior goalkeeper Jonathan Walch added to his noteworthy season with five saves on an afternoon where the Mariners led 13-11 in shots. Saturday's matchup marked Delhi's sixth defeat decided by one goal. Brody Rettle led the Broncos with four shots.

SUNY Delhi, now 2-3 in the NAC, continues to hold down the fourth and final spot in late October's NAC West Tournament. Head coach EJ Reutemann's squad has four more league matches, wrapping up their Maine road trip Sunday at Thomas at 2:30 p.m. They then have road meetings at SUNY Poly Oct. 16 and SUNY Cobleskill Oct. 19, and finally at home with SUNY Canton in their regular-season finale Oct. 23.
