Broncos Down Manhattanville, Turn Attention Back to Conference Play

PURCHASE, NY (March 30, 2021) -- The Broncos hit the road again for a non-conference matchup against Manhattanville College. A big third quarter allowed Delhi to pull away and knock off the Valiants; 13-9.

In a methodical start to the game, each team's attack came away empty until Greg Junge scored a man-up goal for the Broncos with under 5 minutes left to play in period #1. Manhattanville answered right back with a goal of their own but with just 70 seconds left Benjamin Moscatiello gave the Broncos a 2-1 lead.

The second quarter saw Delhi score two goals within a minute to extend the lead to 4-1. The Valiants got another but within seconds the lead was extended back to a 3-goal cushion on a shot from Sean Dalton. The Broncos led the Valiants 5-2 at halftime.

The Broncos would flex their offensive prowess in the the third quarter, going on to score 6 of the 7 goals that period; all by different players. Greg Junge scored his 2nd man-up goal of the game with under 9 minutes left and put Delhi up 9-2.

By the start of the final period Delhi had extended their lead to 11-3. However, Manhattanville didn't go away quietly as Delhi had to fight off a surge of late goals by the Valiants. The Valiants would get the scoring started but Moscatiello registered the next two goals of the game and seemingly put the contest to bed. The final five goals of the match were scored by the home team but there wasn't enough time left for Manhattanville to get any closer. The Broncos would win the game 13-9.

Moscatiello enjoyed a 4-goal game while Junge chipped in with 3 goals. Logan Bauer added 3 assists and a goal.

Nick Dower went an impressive 16-25 on face offs and won a game-high 10 groundballs.

Samuel Steng put in a 60-minute effort in the net; making 15 saves along the way.

The win takes the Yellow and Green to 5-4 overall and put their unblemished conference record on the line Friday when they make the trip to Massachusetts to play MCLA at 5PM.
