Delhi, NY - The SUNY Delhi men's tennis team returned to action this weekend for a conference doubleheader against Lesley. The Broncos enter play looking to add to their two-game win streak.
In game one, for the third straight match, Delhi recorded the clean sweep in the doubles portion of the contest. Ben Anderson and Nicholas Vanhouten would be first with an 8-0 victory, followed by Joseph Maccarrone and Nolan Kleinsasser's commanding 8-2 victory. Lastly, the duo of Gavin Bonczkowski and Devin Guerrieri would collect the emphatic 8-0 result. The Broncos would ride that momentum into the singles portion of the contest, winning five of the six singles matches that followed. Guerrieri (6-0, 6-0) and Vanhouten (6-1, 6-1) would kick things off, giving Delhi a 5-0 match lead. Maccarrone (6-0, 6-1), Kleinsasser (6-0, 6-0), and Bonczkowski (6-1, 6-0) would put the finishing touches on the squad's 8-1 conference victory.
In game two, Delhi would dominate the doubles portion once again, earning another clean sweep. This time, the Broncos would turn to their newest duo of Gabriel Manso and William Egle to collect the final doubles victory. Similarly to game one, Delhi would win five of the six singles matches as Vanhouten, Kleinsasser, and Bonczkowski's singles success would continue, paired with victories from Manso and Egle.
The Broncos improve to 4-3 on the season, 3-1 in conference play, and will take on Oneonta away on Monday.
