Men's Tennis Fall to Mount St. Mary in Season Opener

Newburgh, NY - The SUNY Delhi men's tennis team returned to action, kicking off their 2025 season against Mount St. Mary. The squad is coming off a solid 5-6 season that earned them a spot in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Finals. The Broncos campaign began this weekend, with their sights set on a return to the big game.

The newest duo of Gavin Bonczkowski and Nolan Kleinsasser would collect Delhi's first victory of the season, taking their doubles match by a score of 7-5. Mount St. Mary would respond with wins of their own in the following two matches to collect the doubles point. The Knights would ride that momentum into the singles portion of the contest, recording a clean sweep across the six singles matches. Nicholas Vanhouten recorded the strongest individual performance for the Broncos, taking three games in the first set, followed by five in the second set. In the end, the Knights would collect a 7-0 victory, earning their first win of the season.

The Broncos fall to 0-1 on the season and will take on Bard at home on Thursday, March 27th.
