Delhi, NY - The SUNY Delhi men's tennis team returned to action Thursday afternoon for their home opener against Bard College. The squad is coming off a loss to Mount St. Mary as they look to capture their first victory of the season.
Similarly to their first match of the season, the Broncos were able to secure one of the three doubles matches this time, coming away from the duo of Joseph Maccarrone and Nicholas Vanhouten. Bard would respond with wins of their own in the following two matches to collect the doubles point. The Raptors would ride that momentum into the singles portion of the contest, recording victories in five of the six singles matches. Nicholas Vanhouten would solidify his strong performance, collecting the lone Bronco point. Vanhouten would take set one 6-0 and earn the victory with a commanding 6-1 result in set two. In the end, the Raptors would collect the 6-1 victory, earning their second win of the season.
The Broncos fall to 0-2 on the season and will take on Norwich away on Saturday, March 29th.
