WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • It didn't take long for Delhi to get on the scoreboard as Roberto Velasquez-Osorio (Monticello, NY) collected his 19th goal of the season with an assist from senior Anthony Cuellar (Liberty, NY). Velasquez-Osorio rifled a shot from just inside the box, perfectly set up by Cuellar for his fourth assist of the season.

  • Velasquez-Osorio had another chance at goal from the penalty spot in the 11th minute, slotting away his 20th goal of the season, making him the first Bronco to reach that milestone in a year during the NCAA era.

  • He completed his third consecutive hat-trick performance with another goal in the 27th minute.

  • After halftime, freshman Jaquan Williams (Hempstead, NY) extended the Broncos' lead to four, marking his sixth consecutive match with a goal contribution. Velasquez-Osorio notched his fifth assist of the year on the play.

  • Delhi wrapped up their final NAC matchup in style with two more goals in the final five minutes. Aidan McLaughlin  (Bellmore, NY) and Eric Manta (Bucharest, Romania) added the goals. This marked Manta's second goal of the season and McLaughlin's first career goal in the green and gold.

  • Cobleskill managed to grab one back in the 89th minute before the match concluded.

  • Delhi currently holds the second position in the NAC West Division, with no more regular season conference.

COMMENTS FROM COACH REUTEMANN:

"A significant way for us to finish NAC play. The grass surface was definitely a challenge to consistently move the ball on but I thought our energy and passion was the difference for us from the start. We are really excited to be back at home to see our seniors out before playoffs. Final games of the season can be tricky and are huge momentum changers as you head into the postseason. We will need to be very sharp with the details over the next few days to be ready for Saturday."

UP NEXT FOR THE BRONCOS

Delhi Men's Soccer will be back home next on Saturday, October 21st when they host non-conference SUNY ESF in their final match of the season. The team will also recognize seniors Jon Walch, Anthony Cuellar, Gabriel Monterrosa, and Michael Stone before the match.
