Roberto Velasquez-Osorio wins NAC Rookie of the Week

Roberto Velasquez-Osorio had another outstanding week for the Broncos, further solidifying his superb freshman year with yet another North Atlantic Conference award. With two separate hat-trick performances and contributions to goals in both matches, accumulating a total of 14 points across the two games, Velasquez-Osorio was honored as the Rookie of the Week.

He contributed significantly to the men's soccer's two impressive victories over Pratt University and NAC opponents VTSU-Johnson, where they outscored their opponents 17-0. 

In the first match, Velasquez-Osorio scored two goals in rapid succession, slotting one in during the 46th minute and another just a minute later in the 47th. He completed his second-half hat-trick only 14 minutes into the half, after assisting a teammate with an excellent one-two pass in the box.

In his second match of the week, Velasquez-Osorio notched his second consecutive hat-trick and fourth of the season with three more goals. He currently leads the NAC with 18 goals, which is seven ahead of second-place. He plays a key role in the Broncos' NAC leadership with 3.5 points per match and their impressive eight-game unbeaten streak, boasting a record of (5-0-3) and a goal differential of 39-4. 

Velasquez-Osorio and the Broncos will be in action next on Wednesday, October 18th at SUNY Cobleskill.
