WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • The Broncos had a historic first 45 minutes of play, scoring eight goals with seven assists on thirteen shots on goal. The eight goals mark the highest single-half or full-match score for the men's soccer program since joining the NCAA. The last time they scored as many goals in a single match was in September 2016 when they won 9-0.

  • Junior Michael Williams Jr. (Lake Grove, NY) initiated the green and gold's scoring spree with a strike into the bottom corner, assisted by sophomore Matt Serrao (Franklin, NY), in the second minute. Serrao added the second goal, assisted by freshman Jaquan Williams (Hempstead, NY), by finishing a through ball off the post.

  • Junior Erik Kleczkowski (Staten Island, NY ) extended the lead with a long-distance (Monticello, NY) strike from 30 yards out, assisted by freshman Roberto Velasquez-Osorio. Osorio then found Williams in the box from a cross, and Williams slotted the ball away in the 18th minute to score his first SUNY Delhi career goal. Williams added to his total from the penalty spot just two minutes later.

  • Osorio, the NAC goal-scoring leader, secured his 11th goal of the season from a free-kick. Freshman Garrett Gill (Florida, NY ) then found senior Gabriel Monterrosa (Yonkers, NY) in the box from a corner.

  • The final goal of the half was particularly impressive, as freshman Matthew Pozo (Yorktown Heights, NY ) and sophomore Eric Manta (Bucharest, Romania) combined with headers to set up Sinas Bouzikos (Cologne, Germany), who also scored with his head.

  • In the second half, the Broncos scored four goals in the first 11 minutes, with Bouzikos, Velasquez-Osorio, and Williams (who scored two) adding to their total.

  • Delhi added two more goals for the remainder of the match, with another goal from Monterosa and an own goal by Lyndon.

  • The freshman pair of Salvator Meloni (Ridge, NY ) and Ronald Zavala (Uniondale, NY) who made his Delhi debut split time in goal, recording the team's sixth clean sheet of the season.

  • Jaquan Williams had the match-high with a career-high four goals, scoring for the first time today. Meanwhile, Kleczkowski and Velasquez-Osorio both recorded two assists
