DELHI, N.Y. (November 18, 2021) – The SUNY Delhi women's basketball team cracked open the first of a two-game non-conference series at home versus Marywood Thursday night. The guest Pacers broke the game open with a 22-4 second-quarter margin en route to a 72-37 victory. The two teams will rematch on Dec. 7 at Marywood.

Rebounding continued to be a factor for Delhi, as Marywood charted a 61-41 lead on the boards, with 26 of them coming off offensive rebounds towards a 20-11 lead in second-chance points. Both sides shot mercilessly, with the Broncos factoring 25.4 percent (16-of-63) and 1-of-5 from behind the arc, while the Pacers fared 35.0 percent (28-of-80), making 9-of-29 threes. Delhi did claim a lead in the fastbreak points category, 10-6, ignited by Angelica Lazo's quick movement down the court that produced a team-best 14 points and four steals. She also delivered three rebounds.

Jennifer Roche totaled eight points for second on the team, tying with Madilyne Kupris for the team lead with seven rebounds. Jahddah Lennon led the Broncos with four assists, while gathering five points and six rebounds.

Head Coach Aiden McRoberts' team sets out on a three-game road trip, beginning with a stay at this weekend's Alfred Classic. They tip things off Saturday versus Alfred State Saturday at 4:00 p.m., then face off against Alfred University Sunday at 2:00 p.m. They then come back from Thanksgiving break heading to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute on Nov. 30 at 7:00 p.m.
