Lazo Earns Game High in Scoring at SUNY Oswego

OSWEGO, N.Y. (November 16, 2021) – The SUNY Delhi women's basketball team played the latter of their two-game road trip on Tuesday at SUNY Oswego, falling victim to a 75-39 decision. While the Broncos displayed solidarity inside the arc, only taking four 3-point attempts, the Lakers connected on seven threes to set some distance.

For the second straight game a Bronco led the contest in scoring, with tonight's spotlight going to Angelica Lazo connecting for 16 points, including shooting 6-of-7 from the free throw line. Jennifer Roche gathered nine rebounds to lead the team, while ranking second with seven points. Jahddah Lennon made a matching six points with six rebounds, plundering four steals.

Rebounding was a factor, with the host Lakers leading 62-31 on boards, including 27 offensive for a 27-4 lead in second chance points. Delhi shot 30.8 percent (16-of-58) to Oswego's 39.2 percent (31-of-79), and forced the Lakers into 21 turnovers for 12 points off turnovers.

The Broncos return home Thursday welcoming Marywood to Floyd L. Maines Arena at 6:00 p.m. The women then head back out on the road for three straight matches, starting with the Alfred Classic versus Alfred State Saturday at 4:00 p.m., then Alfred University Sunday at 2:00 p.m. They then take on RPI on Nov. 30 at 7:00 p.m.
