Delhi Soccer collects three North Atlantic Conference weekly awards (9/11)

After the second week back, three Delhi student-athletes have been selected for North Atlantic Conference weekly awards. Women’s soccer’s sophomore Shaniyah Myers and freshman Lizzetta Myers, combined for six goals through two matches, while men's soccer’s Eric Kleczkowski and the Bronco defense recorded two clean sheets in two games.

Women's Soccer Player of the Week

Shaniyah Myers
Sophomore | Forward | North Babylon, New York

Shaniyah Myers led the high-powered Bronco attack to two home victories last week. The Broncos scored 10 goals in two matches, defeating Keystone College 6-0 and SUNY Maritime 4-1. By applying pressure to both Keystone and SUNY Maritime's backline and goalkeepers, Myers added three goals to her stat sheet along with a total of 17 shots in her matches. On two occasions, she skillfully beat the backline with the ball, creating one-on-one situations with the keeper and successfully slotting the ball into the net.

Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week

Lizzetta Myers
First Year | Forward | Sterling, New York

Freshman Lizzetta Myers was on fire last week during Delhi's two wins against Keystone College, 6-0, and SUNY Maritime, 4-1, in which the Broncos scored ten goals. After scoring her first-ever collegiate goal last week, Myers added three more this week. She posed a significant threat on the wing, consistently making deep runs into the opposition's side. Ending with nine total shots for the week, she managed to contribute to the score in both games with one goal against the Giants and two more against the Privateers.

Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week

Erik Kleczkowski
Junior | Defender| Staten Island, New York

Erik Kleczkowski was a pivotal cog in the Broncos' backline this past week, which has yet to concede a goal this season. In two competitive non-conference matchups last week, Kleczkowski led the defense to two clean sheets, marking the first time the men's soccer program has achieved three consecutive shutouts over its first three matches of the season since reclassifying to NCAA Division III.

Finishing with a record of 1-0-1 for the week, the Broncos secured a 0-0 draw against Elmira College and a 2-0 home victory over the Marywood Pacers. Kleczkowski has been a physical force for the Broncos, consistently disrupting opponents' runs and the flow of their offense. Delhi limited its two opponents to a combined 11 shots on goal for the week.
