ROCHESTER, N.Y. (May 19, 2021) – All four Broncos competing at Wednesday AARTFC Championships set new personal bests, including one who used his to extend his season for one more race. Speedy freshman phenom Naquille Harris clocked in the fastest time of the 100-meter preliminaries with a mark of 10.65 to qualify for finals and post the second-fastest time in school history. Harris will run both the 100-meter finals and 200 meters on Thursday's conclusion at St. John Fisher College.

Fellow freshman John Amenta turned in a huge personal best, with his 14:56.34 fifth-place finish in the 5000 meters obliterating his previous standard of 15:20.23 from two weeks ago. Amenta's performance pumped Delhi's streak of posting at least one podium finish at every AARTFC Championship since joining the conference in 2018-19. Senior sprinter Jaylynn Sheppard ended her outstanding career in satisfying fashion, taking her best-ever time in the 100-meter preliminaries with a mark of 13.00. Sophomore Sophie Stewart landed a time of 11:58.69 in the 3000-meter steeplechase, besting her previous time of 12:05.37 that qualified her for regionals back on April 17.

Delhi's Thursday slate of the AARTFC Championships includes Josh Jeffes in the 400 and Morgan Condon in the 400-meter hurdles. Harris came within .09 seconds of Marvin Elmore's 100-meter school record of 10.56 set in 2002.
