Sprinter Harris' Trifecta Highlights Broncos Saturday Hosting NAC West Invite

DELHI, N.Y. (April 25, 2021) - SUNY Delhi track & field once again played host Saturday, welcoming SUNY Cobleskill for the NAC West Invitational. Non-conference Russell Sage was also on hand to join the competition.

Freshman sprinter Naquille Harris had a great weekend, winning the 100 meters (11.14), 200 meters (23.00) and 4x100 meter relay. His time in the 100 was an improvement on last week and just 0.04 seconds off of the AARTFC qualifying mark. The women were led by senior sprinter Jaylynn Sheppard, who also won the individual races at 100 (13.11) and 200 meters (28.36).

The Bronco men also picked up wins from Aidan Cutting in the 1500 meters (4:15.89) and John Amenta (15:40.22) in the 5000 meters for the second weekend in a row. Also getting into the winning ways were freshman Morgan Condon in the 400-meter hurdles (1:01.33). In the field, freshman Quinton Robinson won the javelin (42.47) with a huge personal best as well as the discus (34.29). The men also picked up a pair of wins in the relays with Harry Birchmore, Robinson, Ian Luhmann and Harris winning the 4x100 (44.20) and Cutting, Condon, Lewis Race and Amenta winning the 4x400 (3:45.50).

On the women's side, Sheppard was joined in the win column by junior Katerina Salcedo in the 800 meters (2:27.82) and Kitty Messina in the discus (30.25).

SUNY Delhi now prepares to host the Bronco Afternoon Classic this Friday.
