Men's Lacrosse has eight players collect end of the year NAC awards

Delhi, NY – The Delhi Men’s lacrosse team had eight players who were recognized with North Atlantic Conference season honors. After making their first North Atlantic Conference Championship appearance this season, Delhi grabbed two of the end-of-the-year major awards.

Senior Sean Dalton was named NAC Defensive Player of the Year after leading the Bronco's defensive unit all year. The team led the conference in caused turnovers while holding opponents to single-digit points in 11 games. He charted 14 caused turnovers and 14 ground balls in conference games in 2023, with 21 caused turnovers and 28 ground balls over all 14 regular season contests. Seven of his ground balls and seven of his caused turnovers were collected against NAC tournament qualifiers. Dalton finished the season with three goals and two assists for five points in NAC contests, including two goals against regular-season champion Maine Maritime.

Freshman Jagger Beachak was named NAC Rookie of the Year after ending his season on a roll, scoring 12 goals in his final four games. In his first season of collegiate men’s lacrosse, Beachak led Delhi with 16 goals and 10 assists for 26 points, including 13 goals and five assists and 18 points against NAC opponents. He closed out the 2023 regular season with a hat trick in each of the Broncos’ final three games against Northern Vermont-Lyndon, Thomas College, and SUNY Poly. He also notched a pair of goals against defending NAC champion Maine Maritime. Beachak completed his first year in the conference with 15 ground balls and one caused turnover versus NAC rivals, including five GBs against both NVU-Lyndon and Thomas.

Five Broncos were also awarded selections to the NAC First Team, including the full defensive unit. Senior Sean Dalton was placed on the first team alongside his Defensive Player of the Year award. Fellow seniors Joe Carr and Zachary Seebach joined him after their great individual years. Carr forced 26 caused turnovers and ranked eighth in the NAC with 1.68 per game while picking up 31 ground balls while. Seebach ended his final year picking up 44 ground balls and forcing 24 turnovers. Sophomore Donovan Johnson Moline had a big year, ranking 4th in the NAC in caused turnovers with 1.88 per game. He finished with 28 total caused turnovers and was second on the team with 49 ground balls. Goalkeeper Samuel Steng would also be selected to the first team after being a consistent anchor to the defensive unit. He started all 16 games in the goal and had some huge games, ending the year with a 53.25 save percentage.

Freshman Anthony Ferrato would be the loan Bronco to land on the All-NAC Second Team after dominating at the face-off position all year. He ended up ranked 7th in the NAC in groundballs per game and 4th in faceoff percentage. He led the team in ground balls with 83 and ended with a .568 faceoff percentage.

Senior Brett Fischer would be selected for the Sportsmanship Award after being a team leader all year on and off the field.
