Men’s Lacrosse scores 19 en route to NAC Win over Cobleskill

Delhi, NY - Men's lacrosse (3-5, 2-0) hosted North Atlantic Conference opponents SUNY Cobleskill at noon Saturday and defeated the Tigers 19-5. The Broncos won their second conference game of the year after beating SUNY Canton earlier in the season.

The green and gold jumped out on Cobleskill, scoring the first seven goals of the game while refusing to give up a goal all first quarter. They went into the half with a 10-2 lead as Brandon McGrath was impressive with the ball, dishing out three assists and grabbing a goal of his own. Nine different Broncos got on the board in the first half with Jack McClurg leading the way as the only one with two goals.

The Broncos kept their momentum going in the second half where they would add nine more goals to reach their highest-scoring game of the season. The freshman, Sam Bieber, once again scored four goals as he has been on a tear for the Delhi offense. In his last four games, Bieber has put up 13 goals with three four-goal games.

The Delhi offense exploded as 11 players combined for their highest-scoring game of the season. Senior Greg Junge had three impressive goals, while Jagger Beachak, Nico Rivera and McClurg all scored two goals each. Goalkeeper Sam Steng got another win on the season with a solid 11-save performance. The defense once again had a solid game in front of Steng, causing 14 turnovers while not giving up a goal for the first 20 minutes of action.

The Broncos will move ahead to a big conference game at Maine Maritime on March 31st.
