Men's Lacrosse falls to Manhattanville in overtime thriller

Delhi, NY - Men's lacrosse hosted non-conference opponents Manhattanville late Wednesday night and were defeated in an overtime thriller 15-14. Three Broncos scored a hat trick as they forced overtime with two late unassisted goals in regular time.

The Broncos (4-7,3-1) wrap up their non-conference season leaving five North Atlantic Conference games remaining.

How it Happened:

After finding themselves down early 4-1 in the first quarter, the Broncos grabbed three straight goals to tie up the game early in the second quarter. Seniors King White and Kyle Brogan and juniors Jackson Murphy and Chris Lazazzaro all scored for Delhi.

The Valiants would then grab four straight goals before Jack McClurg ended the first half with a solo goal to bring the Broncos to 8-5 at the half.

The second half was back and forth as Delhi slowly chipped away at the lead. They found themselves down 13-10 with just under 12 minutes remaining in the fourth, before scoring four straight goals to grab a 14-13 lead with three minutes left. Freshman Sam Bieber and senior Jack McClurg both scored two goals each including incredible solo efforts from both.

Their first lead of the night was short-lived as Manhattanville would equalize with less than a minute remaining, sending the game into overtime. They would eventually win, scoring a goal with a minute and seven seconds left in overtime.

Everyone was getting in on the action as Beiber, McClurg and Logan Bauer all scored at least three times with McClurg leading the team with four goals. Delhi had solid offensive ball movement, assisting on nine of their 14 goals. Chris Lazazzaro, McClurg and White all dished out two assists as the Broncos outshot the Valiants 46-28.
