Broncos, Palmer Third After Day One of USCAA National Championships

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (May 11, 2021) – The SUNY Delhi men's golf team stands in third place after day one of the USCAA Championships Monday with a 299 score, just two shots out from first place. Brandon Palmer leads Delhi with a 71 one-under-par score for third place individually, one stroke behind the top day-one finishers from Campbellsville Harrodsburg and St. Mary of the Woods. The second and final day of the national championships commences Tuesday at the par-72, 6329-yard Penn State Blue Course.

The Broncos' five-senior squad each posted solid scores Monday to put the team within reach of the championship. Palmer used six birdies to take his team-leading spot. Jarrett McWilliams placed himself right behind Palmer with a 72 par score for fourth place. Daniel Christy scored a 77 for 12th place, while Zach Barrett carried a 79 for 16th place. Jason Cyr finished with an 81 for 21st.

Campbellsville Harrodsburg and Mississippi UW are tied for first with 297 scores. Campbellsville Harrodsburg's Kameron Gehrig and St. Mary of the Woods' Andrew Granda are tied for the top spot on the leaderboard with 70 scores.
