Broncos Pocket Another Victory Tuesday at Elmira Invite

ELMIRA, N.Y. (April 27, 2021) – Fresh off their NAC West championship on Saturday, the SUNY Delhi men's golf team headed to Tuesday's Elmira College Spring Invitational, winning the four-team competition with a 309 score for a 28-stroke margin of victory. Danny Christy tied for the individual lead with a 75 on the par-72, 6500-yard Mark Twain Golf Course.

Delhi's entire "A Team" landed in the top seven. Jason Cyr took third on the leaderboard with a 77, as Zach Barrett carded a 78 for fourth place. Brandon Palmer finished sixth with a 79 score, while Jarrett McWilliams clubbed an 80 for seventh.

The Broncos' "B Team" combined for a 339, good for the third-lowest finish among all teams. Freshman Jordan Starley took ninth with an 83 score, followed by John Williamson and Thomas Long tying for 12th on 85 scores. Freshman Thomas Christoffersen finished with an 86 for 15th place, while Ryan Clark shot an 87 for 16th place.

Competing schools included host Elmira, SUNY Oswego, and Utica. Oswego took second with a 337, while Elmira finished with a 348 and Utica a 351. Oswego's Ryan Fecco won the invitational with a 75, edging out Delhi's Christy in the tiebreaker.

With another victory in hand, Coach Dave Arehart's men head to Friday's NAC Championships to take on NAC East Champion Husson. Delhi won the NAC West Championship Saturday with a 295 score, while Husson won the Eastern Division with a 328.
