Palmer Third, Broncos Fourth to Open Spring at NCAA Div. II Le Moyne Bello Invite

RESULTS

BALDWINSVILLE, N.Y. (April 12, 2021) – The SUNY Delhi men's golf team began their season Monday at the Le Moyne Mike Bello Invitational, placing fourth in a field of all NCAA Division II competition. Playing two rounds Monday at the Timber Banks Golf Course, the Broncos were third after round one with a 301 score, then shot 300 for round two. Brandon Palmer led Delhi with a 145 (+1) for third place, shooting a 72 par in round one and 73 in the second round.

Jarrett McWilliams took ninth on the leaderboard with a 150 (+6), carrying 77 and 73 scores. Thomas Christoffersen carded matching 77's for 154 (+10) to take 20th, while Daniel Christy placed 29th at 157 (+13) with 75 and 82 scores. Zach Barrett finished 33th with a 160 (+16), improving from his 83 first-round score with a 77 in round two. Ryan Clark competed individually, taking 45th with a 173 (+29) by way of 85 and 88 scores.

St. Thomas Aquinas won the invite with a 595 (295, 300), placing four players in the top 11. Host Le Moyne carded a 13-stroke improvement from round one to take second at 597 (305, 292), while Bentley finished third at 599 (298, 301). Goldey Beacom's Hunter McGee won the individual championship with a 139 (-5) after 72 and 67 outings. Le Moyne's Tyler Birdd took second with an even 144 following 76 and 68 rounds. Bentley's Tommy Ethier finished tied with Palmer with a 145 off 71 and 74 scores. 

The Broncos will serve as hosts for their next competition, the Bronco Spring Invitational, this Saturday, April 17.
