Broncos fall at MCLA in four sets

North Adams, MA – Delhi Women's Volleyball traveled to MCLA and were defeated in a tight match 3-1. Despite the defeat, senior Chloe Elsenbeck recorded the team's season-high 12 kills. 

THE BASICS

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW  

  • In a back-and-forth first set, which saw the score even eight times, the Broncos would end up losing out in the last few points 25-23.  

  • Chloe Elsenbeck was the heartbeat of the offense, serving 10 times with 10 attacks, while junior Jaiden Venute (Flushing, NY) added nine assists in set one.  

  • The second frame got away from Delhi but in the third they regained their focus and turned it around, grabbing an early lead and never giving it up, winning 25-20.  

  • Six Broncos notched a kill, led by senior Katelyn Babcock's (Monticello, NY) four on just five attacking attempts.  

  • Freshman libero Madelyn Diep (Baldwinsville, NY) also had a great third set, serving eight times while being a force on defense with five serving receptions and six digs.  

  • Elsenbeck would finish with three kills in every set and the team's season-high 12 as the green and gold were taken down in the fourth set.  

  • Babcock also ended with her season-high eight kills while Diep served 18 times and had 14 digs.
