Women's Volleyball drops away match at Russell Sage 1-3

Troy, NY - The Delhi Volleyball team took on Russell Sage for their first away game of the season, falling in four sets.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • The Broncos matched the Gators point-for-point in the first set. With the score tied at 17-17, Russell Sage pulled away to take it 25-20.

  • After finding themselves down early 10-3 in the second set, Delhi could not stage a comeback and eventually dropped it 25-15.

  • They found a new rhythm in the third set, winning the first five points thanks to junior Jaiden Venute's (Flushing, NY) serve. This strong start propelled them to an 11-4 lead and eventually led to the Broncos taking the set 25-20.

  • Freshman Madelyn Diep's (Baldwinsville, NY) three kills helped them secure set four, with four more teammates contributing one kill each.

  • However, the Gators regained momentum and took the final set 25-15.

  • Diep ended the match with a team-high eight kills and 15 digs, while freshman teammate Finley Benn (Cleveland, OH) was second with five kills.
