Delhi, NY - Delhi hosted two home matches to start off their 2023 season, with a sweep win over Husson and a 3-1 loss to Wells College.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW 

• The green and gold took care of business, defeating Husson in their first match of the season in straight sets 25-20, 25-21 and 25-6. In a superb final set, freshman Madelyn Diep (Baldwinsville, NY) and senior Chloe Elsenbeck (New Hartford, NY) combined for 17 points while serving.  

• Elsenbeck also led the way with a team-high five kills, followed by freshman Natalie Bulmahn (Irondequoit, NY) senior Sage Renneisen (Blue Point, NY) and senior Stephanie Burke (West Winfield, NY who all recorded four kills in the first match. She also recorded 10 digs and played a significant role in serving as well. Elsenbeck served 25 times with a match-high seven aces, achieving an impressive .960 percentage.

• In the second match against Wells, the Broncos carried over the momentum to take the first set 25-19. Elsenbeck continued her excellent day, serving six aces in the first set alone.  

• The Express would take the next three sets (25-20, 25-18, 25-13). 

• Senior Stephanie Burke recorded eight kills in 28 attacking attempts. 

• Elsenbeck once again contributed with five kills and strong serving, recording a match-high seven aces on 19 attempts with a serving percentage of .947 in the loss.

UP NEXT FOR THE BRONCOS 

The Broncos travel to Russell Sage College on September 5th for their first game on the road.
