Dean Accorded USCAA DII Player of the Week, Earns Second Weekly Honor

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (November 21, 2017) – One day after earning ACAA Player of the Week honors, sophomore forward Payton Dean (Harpursville, NY / Harpursville) was recognized by the USCAA as its Division II Player of the Week for his outstanding performances last week to help Delhi to three straight wins. His performances in Delhi's wins over Albany College of Pharmacy, Stratford and Berkeley helped the Broncos overcome a slow start to the year, and has them currently standing at 3-5.

Dean collected back-to-back double-doubles Saturday and Sunday to help the Broncos defeat Stratford and Berkeley, scoring a year-best 18 points in both games. After grabbing 12 boards against the Cardinals in a 66-62 victory, he nearly doubled that against the Knights with 24 rebounds, including 11 offensive boards. His performance Sunday aided the Broncos to an 88-84 win, ending the three-time defending national champions' 56-game winning streak. The sophomore also had six rebounds and three assists in the men's 74-54 rout of ACPHS Wednesday. For the week Dean averaged 12.7 points, 13.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists, while shooting 12-for-23 from the field.
