Payton Dean Awarded ACAA Player of the Week

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (November 21, 2017) – The American Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) today announced sophomore forward Payton Dean (Harpursville, NY / Harpursville) as its Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending November 19. His performances in Delhi's wins over Albany College of Pharmacy, Stratford and Berkeley has helped the Broncos overcome a slow start to the year to stand at 3-4. Dean is the second straight Bronco to win the weekly honor, with Stephen Harten earning accolades last week.

Dean collected back-to-back double-doubles Saturday and Sunday to help the Broncos defeat Stratford and Berkeley, scoring a year-best 18 points in both games. After grabbing 12 boards against the Cardinals in a 66-62 victory, he nearly doubled that against the Knights with 24 rebounds, including 11 offensive boards. His performance Sunday aided the Broncos to an 88-84 win, ending the three-time defending national champions' 56-game winning streak. The sophomore also had six rebounds and three assists in the men's 74-54 rout of ACPHS Wednesday. For the week Dean averaged 12.7 points, 13.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists, while shooting 12-for-23 from the field.

Dean and the Broncos have one more test before Thanksgiving, hosting Maine Fort Kent today at 3:00 p.m.
