RANDOLPH CENTER, Vt. (November 8, 2017) – In a tight match Wednesday evening, the SUNY Delhi men's basketball team held as much as a ten-point second half lead at Vermont Tech, only to see the Knights rally to send the game to overtime, in which the Broncos fell by an 84-79 score. Despite five Broncos scoring in double figures, with reserve Damon Danteh leading the game with 18 points, Vermont Tech's Cameron Carter's game-tying 3-pointer with 11 seconds left in regulation led to the Knights outscoring Delhi, 9-4, in the extra period.

Leading at the half, 36-27, Delhi stretched its lead to 43-33 on a Kori Henriquez 3-pointer with 17:31 left in the second half. Vermont Tech steadily worked its way back in the game, eventually taking a slim 61-59 lead on a Carter layup with 9:09 to play in regulation. Both sides exchanged leads over the next few minutes, with the Broncos holding on to a pair of five-point leads down the stretch. Ahead, 73-68, with 2:21 to go in the second, Carter cut Delhi's lead to 73-72 on a triple with 1:33 to go. Denteh answered for the Broncos with a layup to bring the lead back up to three with 1:24 remaining. After two possession changes, Carter tied things up with his third 3-pointer of the game to force overtime. The Knights scored the first five points of the extra session, and never relinquished the lead.

Jordan Fragale finished second on Delhi with 14 points, along with a team-best six assists in 20 minutes off the bench. Jake Slobe had 13 points, while Henriquez had 11 points and five rebounds and Stephen Harten registered ten points with five boards. Both Denteh and Henriquez had a team-high three 3-pointers.

Delhi fared 38.6 percent from the floor (27-for-70) and 10-of-28 from 3-point range, while Vermont Tech shot 47.0 percent (31-for-66) and 14-for-29 from behind the arc. The Knights' Daniel Gill and Titus Smith each had five 3-pointers to lead the contest, both finishing with 17 points. Lewis Holey had a double-double for Vermont Tech with 17 points and 14 boards, while Carter had 16 markers.

The game featured a total of 12 lead changes and eight ties. The Broncos led the Knights, 38-9 in bench points, but were outrebounded, 49-27. Delhi and Vermont Tech were tied, 32-32, in points in the paint, and the Broncos cashed in 27 Knights turnovers for 29 points.
