Maslanka Garners Seventh Season Double-Double in 3-1 Defeat to Clarks Summit

DELHI, N.Y. (October 9, 2018) – The SUNY Delhi women's volleyball team suffered a 3-1 defeat Tuesday night against Clarks Summit. Despite ten kills and ten digs from Kristen Maslanka, the Broncos fell in the first two sets by 25-17 and 25-18 scores. Delhi responded to win set three, 25-22, but the Defenders grabbed the fourth game, 25-14, to clinch the match.

The Broncos held a 17-16 lead on Clarks Summit in the second set, but the visiting team claimed nine of the next ten points to take the game. Delhi played CSU close in the fourth set early on, even holding an 8-7 lead. After reclaiming the lead, 11-9, the Defenders went on a stretch where they strung together nine straight points.

Maslanka earned her seventh double-double of the season, leading the Broncos in kills. Libero Ashley Hintz led Delhi with 21 digs, while Erica Prindle led with 19 assists and tallied six kills. Caitlyn Curcurito added seven kills, while Witchney Clersainville totaled six kills and three solo blocks. Taylor Tsatsis logged ten assists with four kills, while Haylee Lefebvre charted five kills.

Head coach Beau Bracchy's continues their six-date, seven-match home stand with contest number three on Thursday versus Cazenovia. First serve will take place at 7:00 p.m.
