DELHI, N.Y. (November 2, 2018) – After posting their best regular season record since 2010, the SUNY Delhi women's volleyball team will close out the season as hosts of the ACAA Tournament. The Broncos' semifinals matchup will be against Thomas More on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. The victor will head to the league championship on Sunday at 12 noon. The finalist will face the winner of the semifinals contest between Alfred State and Finlandia, set for Saturday at 6:00 p.m.

Coming off a 9-19 season in 2017, head coach Beau Bracchy bolstered his roster with a strong recruiting class, as his blend of returners and newcomers have the team at a 13-11 record. They began the year winning five of their first six matches, which included back-to-back sweeps in weekend dual matches. The Broncos first posted same-day wins over Dean and Valley Forge in their season opener on Sept. 2, followed by defeating Pine Manor and Fisher on Saturday, Sept. 8. Delhi was 4-2 in five-set matches, including two where they battled back from two sets down. The first was at Utica on Sept. 10, followed by local-foe SUNY Cobleskill on Oct. 4. In both contests, the Broncos won the fifth set by two points. The ladies are 2-1 against ACAA foes.

Sophomore defensive specialist Ashley Hintz received conference praise, being named the ACAA's Defensive Player of the Week three times. Splitting time as the team's DS and libero, Hintz led the squad with 382 digs. Senior Kristen Maslanka has been a solid presence on both sides of the ball, leading the offense with 206 kills, while finishing second with 286 digs. Erica Prindle leads with 450 assists, while ranking second with 45 service aces. Sophomore Taylor Tsatsis leads with 49 service aces, second with 287 assists and third with 168 kills. The freshmen have also made their mark, with Witchney Clersainville dominating the blocks category with 44 total and 19 solo, while Caitlyn Curcurito ranks second with 177 kills.
