NORFOLK, Va. (December 12, 2018) – The United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) has announced its Fall 2018 Non-USCAA Sport National All-Academic Team. Women's tennis sophomore Sarah Krzyston (Delhi, NY / Delaware Academy) was among the list of distinguished recipients, as the Criminal Justice major currently holds a 3.97 GPA.
From Head Coach Courtney Hoyt:
"As a Criminal Justice major, Ms. Krzyston took on the added challenge of becoming a student-athlete at SUNY Delhi. She has been a member of the Broncos for the past two seasons. Prior to college, Ms. Krzyston was not involved in athletics. She stepped out of her comfort zone and was willing to try something new for the sake of others. During her time as a student-athlete, she has displayed qualities of commitment to the game, time management of her schoolwork and extracurricular load, dedication to improvement, and teamwork.
In my time with Ms. Krzyston, she has overcome personal obstacles in order to better herself and to aid in team success. She is a selfless athlete, unwilling to quit, and thinking only of herself in a manner to better the collective team. As an athlete, Ms. Krzyston is extremely coachable. She is willing to try anything new and improve on her weaknesses. She never complains, is always lending a helping hand, and comes mentally and physically prepared every day. Ms. Krzyston's hard work earned her fifth singles seat this season, improving one seat from last season.
Ms. Krzyston possesses the skills necessary to undertake and excel concurrently in multiple facets of life. During her time at SUNY Delhi she has excelled in the classroom and has reached beyond academics to not only become, but also find success as a student-athlete. Ms. Krzyston personifies all that SUNY Delhi stands for."
Krzyston is an active member of SUNY Delhi's Criminal Justice Club, where she has served as the Treasurer, and the Honors Club. She was also the recipient of the A.L Kellogg Scholarship and Dennis Callas Scholarship, as well as twice being named to the Dean's List, and was named a Student Scholar-Athlete.
