Broncos Tie NVU-Johnson 0-0 in First Conference Match of the Season

The Delhi Women's Soccer team (1-2-3, 0-0-1) traveled with the Men's team for a double-header against NVU-Johnson on Saturday. Both the Broncos and the Badgers had 10 shots each but were unable to convert with the match ending with zeros on the scoreboard

The whole match was back and forth as both teams controlled 50% possession. The Broncos put up 10 shots with eight on goal, while Johnson had six shots on goal. Delhi keeper, Andraya Hunt was solid in goal, stopping all six shots for her third clean sheet of the year. Hunt has 32 saves on the year for an average of 5.33 saves in six games played. Senior Kelsey Innes and Freshman Kaitlyn Werthmuller put up a combined seven shots for the Broncos but couldn't find the back of the net

The Broncos will now look forward to a conference road trip on September 24th and 25th, taking on Husson Saturday and UMPI Sunday.

Comments from head coach Zach Ward: "Third clean sheet of the year and a point in our first conference game of the year. Not the result we expected or wanted but a result nonetheless. Johnson worked extremely hard in the midfield and made it difficult for us to spend any time on the ball. We had several scoring opportunities that we'll have to put away in future matches. Time to turn our attention to next weekend."
