Delhi falls in an away game to Marywood University despite outscoring them in the paint

Scranton, PA - The Delhi women's basketball (2-5,0-1) team traveled to an away game against Marywood University (7-1) but were defeated 90-50. The Broncos had 32 points in the paint and 22 from the bench but it wasn't enough as the Pioneers shot 54% from the field.

The Broncos would have a slow start to the game, finding themselves down 16 after the first quarter. They would then jump out in the second, scoring the first 11 points to pull within five points of the Pioneers.

The Green and Gold worked the ball down low in the first half and scored 22 points from the paint. They had seven different scorers led by Jayda Allen's nine points. She would also have three blocks, three rebounds and a steal as Delhi went into the break down 45-31.

In the third quarter, both teams would shoot the ball well with the Broncos going 50% (5/10) from the field and 66% (2/3) from three. They would then have a tough fourth quarter, but finish with more points in the fast break.

The Broncos had eight different scorers throughout the contests, with Ma'Kira Busnie and Allen combining for 24 points. Busnie added nine rebounds including six offensive boards with Allen putting up six boards and four blocks.

Delhi will continue on the road and play NAC opponent Northern Vermont-Johnson on Saturday, December 10th at 2:00 P.M.
