Freshman Noah Tyler takes top individual spot, Broncos win at SUNY Canton Invite

Canton, NY - Delhi Men's Golf traveled to the SUNY Canton Invitational Wednesday afternoon for their second competition in two days. After placing second overall yesterday, freshman Noah Tyler and the Broncos improved on their performance by placing first individually and as a team.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW  

  • Freshman Noah Tyler (Fort Edward, NY) had an excellent round after a runner-up finish the day before, winning his first individual college competition in the green and gold out of a field of 57 golfers. He carded a 72 (+0) with ten total pars and four birdies while shooting an impressive 34 (-3) on the back nine.  

  • Senior Thomas Christoffersen (Binghamton, NY) was next for the Broncos, finishing in a two-way tie for fourth overall with a 75 (+3) score. He carded eight pars and four birdies and also improved on his back nine with a 36 (-1).  

  • Freshman John Souva 81 (+9) (Nanuet, NY), senior John Williamson 81 (+9) (Scotch Plains, NJ) and junior Gabriel Horsford 86 (+14) (Walworth, NY) wrapped up the scoring for the winning team.  

  • Freshman Ben Swartz (Hudson Falls, NY) had a great day on the Delhi second unit, finishing in a three-way tie for seventh overall. He carded a 78 (+6) with nine pars and two birdies to end his day as the third-best Bronco.

  • With another team win, the men's golf team has won four of their first five invites this fall season.

Delhi Men's Golf will head to the 2023 Glory Days Invitational at the Winchester Country Club in Virginia on Monday, September 25th.
