Men's Golf tops field of five at 2023 Bronco Invitational

Delhi, NY – Men's Golf hosted five programs at the 2023 SUNY Delhi Bronco Invitational, ending the day on top, 22 strokes ahead of second place. They continue to have a hot start, topping their first two competitions of the year.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW 

  • Freshman John Souva (Nanuet, NY) had the best individual day, outscoring the field of 41 golfers by three strokes with a scorecard of 69 (-3). After posting the second-lowest round yesterday, Souva is off to a hot start in his green and gold career. 

  • The Broncos had the top two golfers on the leaderboard. Seniors Thomas Christoffersen (Binghamton, NY) and freshman Noah Tyler (Fort Edward, NY) carded scores of 72 (+0) and 73 (+1), respectively, to secure the win. Tyler showed significant improvement compared to his previous day's score of 78 (+6), playing a pivotal role in Delhi's victory. 

COMMENTS FROM COACH AREHART 

"The team has shown real depth so far this weekend. In particular, freshman John Souva delivered a stellar 3-under-par round today. Newcomers Noah Tyler and Ben Swartz (Hudson Falls, NY ) also kicked in with key performances. The season is off to a great start."
