Delhi, N.Y. - John Kolodziej returns to Delhi’s swim and dive programs for his 21st season as head coach.
“The SUNY Delhi swimming and diving program has seen a lot of turnover since Coach Kolodziej stepped away from coaching following the 2017-2018 season, with five coaches in the last seven years. We are very excited to have Coach K step back into this role and bring stability back to the program, said Robb Munro, Director of Athletics. ‘With Coach K at the helm, our program saw its largest rosters and most successful teams. We are very pleased that he has agreed to come back to this role and help build the program of the future.”
"I am extremely excited to be rejoining the program as the Head Swimming and Diving Coach for the Delhi Broncos, said Kolodziej. ‘SUNY Delhi has a rich history in Swimming and Diving, and I am proud to be back. I look forward to taking the program to the next level at the NCAA Division III.”
Kolodziej, a former Delhi graduate, initially took the reins in 1999 as the program’s head coach. Kolodziej brings a decorated coaching career, starting with being named the 1999-00 and 2000-01 Mountain Valley Conference "Swimming and Diving Coach of the Year.". In those same seasons Kolodziej captured Mountain Valley Conference Championships with both men’s and women’s programs. In 2014 he was named Men's North East District/Region III Coach of the Year. During his tenure at Delhi, Kolodziej has coached an impressive 99 student-athletes to achieve All America Swimming and Diving honors.
Kolodziej is a member of the American Swimming Coaches Association (ASCA), College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), and the World Swim Coaches Association (WSCA).
