DELHI, N.Y. (December 14, 2021) - An action-filled weekend for SUNY Delhi Athletics posted worthy contenders for our Limitless Photos Broncos of the Week. Our Finals Week edition features track & field's pole vaulter Chris Filatov and women's basketball's Myles Matthias.
Chris Filatov (Pearl River, NY / Nanuet), who entered Saturday's pole vault at the Utica College Holiday Classic at 4.10m, cleared his opening height and the 4.25m both on his second attempts, followed by clearing 4.40m on his first try to finish fourth. He had close attempts at the 4.55m mark, putting him within striking distance of breaking the indoor school record of 4.45m set by Andre Adkins in 2012.
Myles Matthias (Brooklyn, NY / Institute for Collaborative Education) dropped a game-high 17 points against SUNY Canton Saturday in a breakout performance. This capped off a three-game week where she delivered seven points with four rebounds at Marywood Tuesday and nine points with one 3-pointer versus Northern Vermont Johnson Friday. She averaged 11 points per game for the week.
